"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace." -Jimi Hendrix
I think being normal is overrated. What does it even mean to be a "normal" person? Does it mean to be like everybody else? To conform societal standards? To not question what most people see as the norm? Why would I want to be like everybody else? Although I would say that I'm average in many ways, if you look at the facts and figures, I don't want to be normal. I want to strive to be unique, exceptional, and extraordinary. Has anyone that lived their life maintaining the status quo ever accomplished anything noteworthy? It's always been the people that steered away from the everyday that accomplished greatness. While I don't necessarily want to be the next Einstein or Oprah, I do want to live a fulfilling life and leave my mark on the world, and I just think striving for greatness is a good model to live by. You can't go wrong when trying to do your best. I hope I've got a good start, but I'll let you be the judge of that.
